My Weekend Spent Levelling Up - For YOU!

This past month, I traded a weekend in the clinic for the classroom and headed to Florida for advanced training with the Sonography Cosmetics & Aesthetics Network.

If you know me, you know I’m always looking for ways to deepen my knowledge, sharpen my skills, and bring even better care back to my patients. Because you deserve an injector who never stops learning. I’m a big believer that in aesthetics, your education should never really be finished. Techniques evolve, technology advances, and there is always more to understand about facial anatomy and how we can make treatments safer, more precise, and more individualized.

So, I spent my weekend doing exactly that!

Learning Alongside Other Aesthetic Professionals

One of my favorite parts of advanced trainings like this is getting to learn alongside other medical professionals who are just as passionate about aesthetics and patient safety as I am.

I was surrounded by an incredible group of providers who brought so much knowledge and experience to the room. There’s something really valuable about getting out of your own treatment room, exchanging ideas with other professionals, asking questions, and learning from people who are constantly working to improve their own skills.

Aesthetics is always evolving, and I never want to become complacent just because I’ve been doing something successfully for years. There is always another layer to learn.

Taking a Deeper Look With Ultrasound

A big focus of the weekend was ultrasound — learning how to use it to better visualize what’s actually happening beneath the skin. When we look at a face from the outside, we can assess its shape, movement, symmetry, volume, and proportions. Ultrasound gives us another layer of information by allowing us to visualize structures below the surface.

Ultrasound technology is still relatively uncommon in medical aesthetics, and I’m proud to be one of the few injectors incorporating ultrasound into my practice. For me, it comes back to having more information available when making treatment decisions. The better I understand what is happening beneath the skin, the more confidently and precisely I can approach a treatment. So I really loved the change to improve my skills in this area in this workshop!

Going Back to the Anatomy Lab

We also took our anatomy training even deeper through hands-on cadaver labs. You can study anatomy through textbooks, diagrams, models, and courses — and all of those things are incredibly important. But there is nothing quite like being able to study facial anatomy firsthand and see the relationships between different structures beneath the skin.

Cadaver training gives medical professionals an opportunity to develop an even stronger understanding of the anatomy we work with every day as injectors. Being able to see these structures firsthand helps connect everything we learn in theory with what we encounter in actual practice.

I’m also incredibly grateful for the individuals who chose to donate their bodies to medical science. Their generosity makes this kind of advanced education possible and allows medical professionals like me to continue learning in ways that ultimately benefit our patients.

Bringing Advanced Aesthetic Training Back to Roielte

I’m POCUS certified and proud to offer ultrasound technology as part of the care I provide at Roielte. But for me, earning a certification is never the point where learning stops. I love to keep practicing, keep refining my skills, and continue learning as aesthetic medicine evolves. Every training I take, every technique I practice, and every new skill I develop comes back to the same goal: giving you safer, more precise treatments and results you can trust.

When you trust someone with your face, that is a responsibility I take very seriously. You deserve a provider who understands not only how to perform a treatment, but the anatomy behind it, the technology available to make it more precise, and how to respond when something doesn’t go exactly as expected. That’s why continuing education will always be such a big part of what I do.

I may have spent my weekend in a classroom instead of relaxing, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I came home with new knowledge, stronger skills, and even more excitement about what I can offer my patients at Roielte.
